PUPCAKES! As you know, we are all about fresh treats here at your favorite Canine Cafe and we are introducing our newest of homemade goodness, Pupcakes! These are not your Lucky Paws microwave to go pupcakes. Instead we are serving up homemade freshness with style and baking our cakes with all natural and organic ingredients.

The pupcake theme has spread quickly throughout pet boutiques nationwide and Bella Dog Magazine describes it to be the new "it" product.

Pupcakes are perfect for parties, thank you gifts, new puppy arrivals, or an ordinary afternoon treat. Leo & Hatee start their day with a pupcake breakfast. We simply slice the pupcake in half and add unsweetened applesauce or peanut butter on either half. Come by and pick out a full or mini size pupcake for your pet because around here, we are serving up a little pet heaven!!

July 4th

I think Leo & Hatee are going to have a lot of nice treats they will be enjoying come Sunday & Monday because the store hasn't seen too many customers this week. We had some holiday accessories I had hoped to see go but seems like I might be the one who went crazy over the red, white, & blue for the four legged family member!! We hope your 4th of July is a safe & fun event, we say thank you to all those who have served for us and our country and remember those who died doing so!! Hot Diggity Dog Races

It was a Hot Diggity Dog night on Thursday June 3rd with the Victoria Generals. There was the game, a hot dog eating contest and race your weenie contest. Leo's Canine Cafe made prize gift baskets for the winners of the Dog Races. All proceeds of the races benefited DOCPAC.

Hatee

We would like to announce the new arrival of our little girl Hatee, Leo's Sister! She was born on November 25th in the same litter as Leo Scott. We brought her home with us this past Sunday and in just the 5 days we have had her we have discovered a sweet & loving girl with many of the same qualities as her brother. Leo and Hatee are enjoying one another's company, maybe Leo more than Hatee. He spent the first day showing her all his favorite play spots and the pool was a new experience for her. She isn't quite as tough as he is, they ran & played so hard she had some blisters on the bottom of her feet. Nonetheless, she is adjusting to her new home quickly with daily walks, swims in the pool, delicious meals and treats, pretty bows, oatmeal baths and lots of running & leaping through the yard with Leo. We are "doubly blessed!"

Doggie Eggstravaganza Hunt!

Leo's Canine Cafe is inviting all our paw pet friends to spring on over during the first week of April for some quality time with your dogs. We will have "Iced Easter Bones" for your furry pet, an Easter treat they are sure to love! On Saturday, April 3rd, join us for our Doggie Eggstravaganza Hunt where dogs sniff out treat-filled hidden Easter eggs! (All dogs must be leashed)

Exciting & New

This week is spring break and we are looking forward to some extra traffic for the week. We are closed on Monday's so Leo and I made our regular trip to the pet adoption centers to drop off some of our leftover goodie bags that didn't sell in the boutique. While we visited Adopt-A-Pet we were introduced to some of the staff and asked if we would be interested in helping with the main course during the Dine With Your Dog event! Turns out, our Hungarian Goulash is a big hit and we have the honor of preparing this dish for the events main course. Thank You Carol Klages for this opportunity.

In the area of our online store, we are making progress and finding new recipes that work well for shipping. Our menu and available items are being made and posted on Etsy.com or you can check out the details from our facebook page by clicking on the etsy tab there as well.

Today's Lunch Special is Old Fashioned Meat Loaf and we are serving it up with a 12oz order of our Chicken & Rice. Today is the expiration date on our leftover Chicken & Rice so it's a great offer we have in the cafe today and we will make this available while supplies last.

One final note, Leo is 4 months old today so we are celebrating his birthday...come by and try some of our birthday cake before it's all gone too!

Salmon Fudge

Lots going on in the cafe today as far as food goes and we have a special treat for the feline friends. Yesterday we had a customer looking for cat treats and we offer the coconut chips but nothing homemade until today! Salmon Fudge will be our treats for both canine and feline. Our menu selections are growing and the special ingredient to this particular treat is the garlic, which wards of those pesky fleas! That's good news for everyone! On the subject of a growing menu, yesterday we offered something more than just a "treat". Hungarian Goulash was our special of the day making a great lunch or dinner for your four legged best friend. Today we will be making a chicken and rice so if your looking for a doggy meal come by and check out what we have!

First Week

Today marks the end of our first opening week and it has been so great. Our first day kicked off with some wonderful surprises from our friends, thank you to those who sent the beautiful flowers and plants, they have added a special something to our store. Friday was our busiest, which was perfect since I had Joe around to lend an extra helping hand. I have had such a huge interest in our specialty treats and I couldn't be happier to find out how many people are interested in our homemade goods. Our sausage balls are the biggest hit but the muffins, cookies, sweet potato cakes, biscuits, and flax seed twist all are just as appreciated by our furry family members as well. Hiedi Uresti Sanchez was just here today and I can't say enough good things about her and the care she provides to the animals she cares for. We would like to say thanks to Lyn Fletcher and Penny for visiting our store on the first day we opened, Leo was thrilled to have had Penny here and play with her. We were also visited by Isabel, who lives down the street with her pet owners Ashley and Sara. Isabel towers Leo and she made the best playmate! The unforgettable duo, Ivy and Sugar, who are owned by the Hatley's made their entrance and boy was it an entrance! I say this because they are both very happy and curious dogs with a mission at all times. Meeting them was a joy and we want their pet owners to know they are welcomed anytime! I have been asked by several about grooming and we have to do some more research on what our restrictions are. From what I understand the provisions from the city are probably going to limit us in that area but I won't give up on the idea yet. I have so many ideas as far as creating our PAW CLUB and adding more food selections in the area of the raw diet so we will keep everyone posted with what our latest and greatest plans are. Thanks to all of you who came by and showed support, we are looking forward to the pleasure of making you and your pets happy!!

Doggles

Today we recieved a shippment into the store and it included the Doggles! Of course, my mom couldn't wait to put them on me, which left me looking like a Rock Star! It's also a bit windy out today and it's a good look for me with the wind blowing through my hair! This will be a fun & inexpesive accessory for the boutique and guaranteed to give your dog rock star status!
